Why doTerra?

dōTERRA’s Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils are 100% pure natural aromatic compounds carefully extracted from plants. They do not contain fillers or artificial ingredients that would dilute their active qualities. Proper extraction and quality control methods also ensure that dōTERRA’s Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils are free of any contaminants such as pesticides or other chemical residues.

To raise the essential oil quality bar, the doTERRA founders defined a new standard for essential oils: “Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade” or “CPTG.”  To meet this new standard, each batch of oil must meet the current “Pure Therapeutic Grade “ standard and then in addition to those requirements, each batch also must go through a mass spectrometry test as well.  This test verifies that the amount of each required constituent is correct for each batch of oil to ensure maximum potency.  In addition, this test also ensures that no additional ingredients such as weeds, pesticides or synthetics are in the oil.  This allows doTERRA to guarantee that every batch is 100% pure, natural and free of synthetics. CPTG refers to doTERRA's quality control process, which includes:

• proper sourcing;
• harvesting the plant material properly and at the optimum time;
• follow proper distillation methods in the location that it is sourced;
• proper analysis of the chemistry of the oils; and
• proper handling and production. 

doTERRA's essential oils go through five types of third party testing, including:

• gas chromatography;
• mass spectrometry;
• FTIR Scan (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy);
• Microbial Testing; and
• Organoleptic Testing.
